Psychology is one of the most rapidly developing social sciences, touching almost every aspect of our lives. It emphasis on the inner life, the patterns of thought, consciousness and behavior of the person. The public is already convinced of the benefits of using psychological findings in solving such diverse problems as mental illness, human factors in space exploration as well a in helping persons become more self-actualizing. As a branch of science it has been defined in various ways, according to the particular method of approach adopted or field of study proposed by the individual psychologist.
Psychology is the branch of biological science which studies the phenomena of conscious life and behaviour, in their origin, development, and manifestation. The main task of psychology as it has developed in Russia is materialistic investigation of the highest forms of human psychic (mental) activity. Because psychology affects so many aspects of our lives it is important.

Psychological phenomena can be approached from several viewpoints. Behaviorists believed that subject matter of psychology is how man behaves in the environment. This view focuses on those factors that influence his reactions. That is why it is often called the stimulus-response psychology.
Another approach to study of man is psychoanalysis, founded by Sigmund Freud. It says that personality results from three major focuses, the id – our instincts, the ego – our conscious self and superego, the conditional reflexes of social rules. The ego is always under strain of  pleasure principle from the id and moral forces from the superego. For Freudists what is hidden is more important than what we fell and do.
Humanists believe that man is born basically good and that conscious forces are more important than unconscious forces.
Russian psychology is linked with the development of psychophysiology. I. Pavlov, V. Bekhterev and others assert in psychology the Marxist teaching activity.

1.The brain is a very complex structure and it`s very difficult it discover how it operates.

2.It is now well established that some functions are localized in fairly circumscribed brain areas: speech, recognition of spoken words, and the production of motor responses.
Сейчас уже хорошо установлено, что некоторые функции локализованы в явно ограниченных отделах мозга: речь, распознавание произнесенных слов и  воспроизведение двигательных реакций.
3.The following methods are used by physiological psychologists and neurophysiologists in studying the brain.
Следующие методы использовались психологами-физиологами и нейрофизиологами в изучении головного мозга.
4. I.  Injury or surgical ablation. When tumors or injuries damage certain parts of the brain, it may give clues about functions controlled by the area.
I. Травма или хирургическое удаление. Когда опухоли или травмы наносят урон неким частям головного мозга, это может дать ключ к пониманию функций, которые контролируются этим отделом.
5.Improved methods of locating the area of injury and assessing the kind of language functions disturbed have specified the areas involved in different linguistic abilities
6.When ablation operations are performed on patients (ex. To remove tumors or control epilepsy), such patients are carefully studied to assess the effects of the operation of their abilities.
7. II. Electrical or chemical stimulation. Chemical stimulation is widely used affect behavior. Stimulating parts of the brain with ,mild electrical currents produces effects on behavior.

8.III. Electrical effects of neural activity.
When neural action occurs, slight electrical currents are produced.
Электрические эффекты нервной системы. Когда случается нервная активность, появляются легкие электрические токи.
9. By inserting at appropriate places electrodes connected to measuring devices, the experimenter can detect whether impulses starting.
Внедряя в соответствующие места электроды, соединенные с измерительными приборами, экспериментатор может установить, когда начинаются импульсы.
